At Amsta, we start from the EU’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development with the ambition to check off even more in both the short and long term. As a first step, we increased our knowledge of sustainability and identified several criteria that we already meet. In a plan for future efforts, it is important for us to be able to meet both existing and potential customers’ requirements, including their suppliers, and contribute to a sustainable society.
Over the years, we have been able to prove the durability of our products and we are pleased to have had recurring customers for a long time. Our quality and finish is part of sustainability for us. Our work includes, among other things, forming our own policy and making our subcontractors aware. We aim for as much “local” as possible.
As a concept, sustainability is comprehensive, broad and, in some cases, complex. We are already working on new goals that we are aiming for. For us, it is important to have sustainable production, through sustainable products, in a sustainable material. We want to contribute to an environment and a society that is sustainable. This is where our industry has a key role to play. Even in a small business, it is possible to make a difference and the more we grow, the more important it will be to work consciously and strategically. We want to be innovative and open to development – of course also in the area of sustainability. At the same time, we are aware of our limitations and realise that not everything can be done all at once during the transition within certain areas.
We want to invest! No one is too small, and even small things are important. We see opportunities to be as sustainable as possible. Amsta is well on its way and has plans for several years ahead. We care about the environment, which is important in all its elements, so as a next step we are now looking at energy options that will cover more than half of our production, in an energy efficiency project in cooperation with the Energy Office in Mälardalen. We involve experts to help us on the trails of sustainable energy development, more efficient energy use and renewable energy.
Then we continue with things such as our honest relationships and encourage both customers and partners to do the same. We want to influence both locally, in Sweden and abroad where our customers are. For us, it is important to think about sustainable production. Therefore, we manufacture using sustainable materials of high quality, with green soap and without oils. We have a dry processing process and recycle what we throw away. Then we work for good consumer service through follow-ups and care about information, contract methods and honest marketing.
